How to use this click counter

Press the large button on screen, tap anywhere on the pad, or press Space on your keyboard to add one count. Press – to subtract one if you tapped by mistake. Press R or the Reset button to start over from zero.

For timed CPS mode: switch to Timed CPS Test, pick your duration (5, 10, 30, or 60 seconds), and tap once to start the timer. Your clicks per second are calculated automatically when time runs out.

Your count is saved in your browser automatically — it will still be there if you close the tab and come back.

What is a click counter?

A click counter (also called a tally counter or digital clicker) is a tool that adds one to a running total every time you tap or click. It does exactly what a handheld mechanical counter does — but in your browser, for free, with no app to install.

People use click counters to track anything that needs to be counted one at a time: attendance at an event, workout reps, laps, sports scores, inventory items, prayer beads (tasbih), and more. The timed CPS mode adds a second use case — measuring how fast you can click, which is useful for gaming warm-ups and click speed practice.

What can you count with it?

This tool works for any situation where you need to count one at a time:

  • Attendance & people counting — Count guests, students, or visitors as they arrive. No paper, no tally marks.
  • Exercise reps & laps — Track push-ups, pull-ups, double-unders, or lap counts without breaking your rhythm.
  • Sports & game scoring — Keep score for any game or competition. Use the minus button to correct mistakes instantly.
  • Inventory & stock counting — Count items on a shelf or in a box without losing your place.
  • Prayer & tasbih counting — Used for dhikr, rosary, or any repetitive devotional counting practice.
  • Click speed practice (CPS test) — Switch to timed mode to benchmark your clicking speed in a fixed window.

Frequently asked questions

Is this click counter free to use?

Yes. It is completely free, works entirely in your browser, and requires no account or registration. There are no ads and no usage limits.

Does my count save when I close the browser?

Yes. Your count is automatically saved in your browser's local storage. It will still be there when you come back — unless you clear your browser cache or use private/incognito mode.

Can I use keyboard shortcuts?

Yes. Press Space or the Up arrow to add one count. Press the minus key or Down arrow to subtract. Press R to reset. These shortcuts work on desktop and laptop keyboards.

Can I use this on mobile?

Yes. The counter is fully touch-optimized. Tap anywhere on the count pad to increase the count. It works on iPhone, Android, and tablet browsers without any app install.

What is a good CPS score?

Most people click between 4 and 8 CPS (clicks per second) in a relaxed 10-second test. Practiced gamers typically reach 10–14 CPS. The world record is over 14 CPS in a sustained test. Use the 5-second test for quick benchmarks and the 30 or 60-second test for sustained speed measurement.

What is the difference between a click counter and a tally counter?

They are the same thing with different names. A tally counter is the traditional term for a handheld counting device (the kind used at events and sporting venues). A click counter is the digital equivalent. This tool works as both.
