Dress Size Converter

Enter your bust, waist, and hip in inches to see indicative dress sizes in several regions. Sizes are approximate; charts vary by store and cut.

How to use this

Use a soft tape measure. Stand naturally, breathe out, and keep the tape parallel to the floor. This tool compares your numbers to common women’s sizing bands—it is not tailor-made drafting.

Fullest part of the bust, usually over nipples with bra on.

Natural waist, typically the narrowest point above the belly button.

Fullest part of hips and seat, feet together.

Estimated dress sizes

The row that feels tightest in real life usually wins when labels disagree (for example waist vs bust). Use each brand’s chart when available.

US

8–10

Often listed as 0, 2, 4… or small/medium bands on tags.

UK

12–14

UK numeric dress sizes typically run smaller numbers than US for a similar fit.

EU

40–42

Continental EU sizing on women’s apparel; parity varies by retailer.

Why sizes vary

Dress labels are not regulated the same way worldwide—stretch fabric, vanity sizing, and “misses vs plus” lines all shift the numbers. When in doubt, order from retailers that publish garment measurements (flat or body) and keep your tape handy. For bras, pair this with our bra size calculator.

Important usage notes & limitations

Reproductive timelines interact with contraception cessation, PCOS phenotype, transgender hormone therapy intensity, low body-fat athletic amenorrhea, and perimenopause. Hormonal contraception intentionally suppresses natural ovulatory signals until washout stabilization — calendar methods become meaningful only once cycles resume reliably.
